Eating the forest

Bogota is lucky for being surrounded by forested hills. However legal and illegal urbanization has been eating the remaining forests around the city. In any case the native forest is almost absent from the city. The picture shows a popular neighborhood at the southeast of the city.

  1. This is sad and worse, it continues around the world...in South Florida, the Everglades are disappearing due to development. Ugh!

  2. Interesting photo! Indeed - it is sad that the urbanization spreads on these beautiful forested hills.

  4. It's too bad about the settlment into the mountains. I do love the way the hills look, though. I always love clouds on the mountains. It seems the air might be cool.
